Breast Cancer Awareness Month 2022

Think Pink Take Action is the chosen theme for 2021’s campaign. It is about our continuing commitment to create awareness for breast cancer, supporting the warriors, admiring survivors, and honouring those we lost to the illness. Most importantly, it is about making progress together by encouraging women to take action by joining in meaningful discussions on breast cancer and taking up screening mammogram.

Several activities such as plenary talk, hi-tea session with breast cancer patients and forum with Belait community were organized with the aim to educate, empower, and encourage the public particularly women for early detection and screening of breast cancer together with our partners from the private, government and non-government agencies.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month 2021

2020’s campaign was a success and we want to experience the similar adrenaline but due to the current COVID-19 restrictions imposed, Breast Cancer Awareness 2021 physical events and activities had to be postponed. However, as the national cancer centre, we are fully committed to educating and spreading awareness on breast cancer, even in the new norm.

This is where the existing platform such as social media and newspaper are fully utilized for disseminating information about breast cancer. Through these platforms, engagements from the public were high which further proves that media plays an important role in delivering the message effectively to a wider audience.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month 2020

Through the efforts of the Early Detection and Cancer Prevention Services (EDCPS) under the arm of The Brunei Cancer Centre (TBCC), we hope to be able to detect breast cancer at its earlier stages and encourage better public awareness on the cancer. The pledge is then solidified further with the appointment of Mr Wu Chun, Brunei’s very own international celebrity as the Goodwill Ambassador and Messenger of Cancer Awareness. With his strong interest and active contribution of raising cancer awareness, this will help PJSC in disseminating message that would reach the hearts and minds of people in Brunei and abroad.

An interactive and knowledge gaining programme called EDCPS Conversation were organized to engage patients, their family members and the public in discussion and activities relating to breast cancer.
