donation drive for Hari Raya clothing

PJSC Medical Social Work Department collaborated with The Market Place and Foodlife to Initiate A Donation Drive for Hari Raya Clothing

To commemorate World Social Work Day, the PJSC Medical Social Work (MSW) Department collaborated with The Market Place and Foodlife to initiate a donation drive for Hari Raya clothing from 19th March to 22nd March 2024. The response surpassed expectations, with an overwhelming amount of contributions pouring in. Dr. Meera Sahib Kabeer, PJSC Medical Director, graciously presented these generous donations to representatives from Marketplace and Foodlife at Telanai Market on 25th March 2024.

On March 26th, 2024, a team of 20 volunteers from PJSC and JPMC staff dedicated their time to distributing food rations to deserving recipients in the Brunei-Muara District, identified by Foodlife.

Continuing the spirit of giving, on 27th March 2024, an additional 20 staff members volunteered to assist recipients invited to collect food rations and donated clothing during the Telanai Market Open Day, in anticipation of the upcoming Hari Raya celebration.

This collaborative effort between the MSW Department and NGOs and social enterprises marked a significant milestone, as it engaged staff volunteers in community outreach initiatives targeting those in need for the first time.

We extend our sincere gratitude to all individuals who contributed to and supported our event. World Social Work Day underscores our shared commitment to fostering compassion, unity, teamwork, and significant strides toward building a future that prioritizes humanity above all else.
