World Social Work Day, celebrated around the world on Tuesday, the third week of March of every year and this year’s theme, ‘Ubuntu: Strengthening Social Solidarity and Global Connectedness’ focuses on social work perspective of the interconnectedness of all peoples and their environments and the need of solidarity at all levels.
For the first time, Medical Social Work Department (MSW) of Pantai Jerudong Specialist Centre held a World Social Work Day event with the aim of introducing social work to the staffs and public and initiate fundraising for the Medical Social Fund (MSF). Present to officiate the event was Dr Meera Sahib Kabeer, Medical Director of PJSC. The event was attended by PJSC staffs and MSW patients and families as well as invited vendors.
The event lasted until Wednesday 17th March 2021. Portion of the sales will be donated to the Medical Social Fund (MSF). The funds will be utilized to provide patients with daily essentials and other necessary items that give temporary assistance. Public are welcomed to support our vendors and donate to the Medical Social Fund (MSF) via BIBD Online.
