In conjunction with World Cancer Day and International Women’s Day, The Brunei Cancer Centre (TBCC) of Pantai Jerudong Specialist Centre (PJSC) had the pleasure of being invited to TEPB Lounge & Learn, an interactive session organized by TotalEnergies EP (Brunei) B.V at The Radisson Hotel. Attended by 45 staffs, the session aims to understand more about cancer, the symptoms, the rate of cancer affected person in the country, the importance of cancer screening and early detection, how mental support play significant role in the patient’s journey as well as empowering the women to do their part in cancer screening and prevention.
The event started with an opening remark by Mr Olivier Branellec, Acting General Manager of TotalEnergies EP (Brunei) B.V. followed by a talk on Common Male and Female Cancers in Brunei Darussalam by Dato Dr Babu Sukumaran, Director of The Brunei Cancer Centre and a talk on Cancer Screening: From Awareness To Action by Datin Dr Hjh Noraslinah Hj Ramlee, Head of Early Detection & Cancer Prevention Services (EDCPS).
The highlight of the event is the forum session when the audience had the chance to ask the panel of speakers relating on the topic of cancer and women empowerment. Closing the session, all speakers left impactful messages by encouraging all men and women in the audience to do their part in doing cancer screening and early detection as cancers do not wait.
