PJSC is honored to have collaborated with Brunei LNG for a successful Migraine Awareness Talk on July 10th, in conjunction with Migraine and Headache Awareness Month (MHAM) in June, with the aim to educate BLNG staff and their community on migraines and their treatments.
The session starts with an insightful opening speech delivered by Brunei LNG Guest of Honour, Hj Amir Hamzah POKPSDP H Abdul Rahman, HSE Manager of Brunei LNG where he highlighted the importance of understanding migraines and their impact on many of their staff members.
Our esteemed Director of BNSRC, Pg Dr Hjh Nur’ashikin, further explained about the different types of migraine, the importance of identifying and managing the symptoms and treatments available in the country. The session continued with a multidisciplinary panel discussion featuring Pg Dr Hjh Nur’ashikin, Senior Physiotherapist Murugavel Manivasagam, Clinical Psychologist Yvonne Lee, and Migraine Patient Shukri Shariff where the audience gained invaluable experiences and insights into managing this neurological disease.
BLNG staffs were also enthusiastic in engaging with the booths from BNSRC Neurology Department, Rehabilitation Department, and other vendors.
Ultimately, the key takeaway from the whole session is to understand and be more aware because migraines can affect anyone. We hoped that BLNG staffs can benefit from the session and continue to learn about prevention while supporting migraine patients around them.
