Pantai Jerudong Specialist Centre (PJSC) together with The High Commission of Malaysia to Negara Brunei Darussalam held a meet and greet event for cancer survivors and patients here in the Sultanate for the Ziarah Sahabat Kanser 1 Borneo Programme where Mr Zaki Yahya, a cancer survivor and also a chairperson of Persatuan Ziarah Sahabat Kanser travelled by bicycle to visit cancer patients and survivors in Sarawak, Sabah and Negara Brunei Darussalam.

We also had the privilege of receiving His Excellency Raja Dato’ Reza Raja Zaib Shah, High Commissioner of Malaysia to Negara Brunei Darussalam and Spouse, Datin Roslina Ismail yesterday, 22nd February 2023. Welcoming to receive the visit was Dr Hj Mazrul Adimin bin Hj Awang Besar, Executive Director, Dr Kabeer Meera Sahib, Medical Director, Ms Bun Pei Ling, Financial Controller and Acting Chief Operating Officer, senior management team and staff of PJSC and Malaysian High Commission.

As part of the courtesy visit, we were also able to visit cancer patients who were still getting treatment at the Inpatient Department on level 8 of PJSC. This program strives to raise awareness of the cancer agenda in both countries while providing encouragement and support to cancer patients and survivors throughout both nations. The World Cancer Day theme, Close the Care Gap, has been mirrored in this in order to increase cancer awareness between Brunei and Malaysia.
