The Rehabilitation Department under the Brunei Neuroscience Stroke and Rehabilitation Centre (BNSRC) commemorated the International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPWD) recently on 29th November 2023 at Lobby Level 2, PJSC. Present as the Guest of Honor was YB Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Md Isham bin Haji Jaafar, Minister of Health and Chairman of the Board of Directors of PJSC. Also present as special guest was YB Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Nazmi bin Haji Mohamad, Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports.

The commemoration started with an opening remark by the Chairperson of the IDPWD Committee 2023, Dr Abang Muhammad Fahmy bin Abang Hepnie then followed by a speech by the Guest of Honor. The Guest of Honor then launched the event with a compilation video of all the activities coordinated and organized by the IDPWD Committee led by the Rehabilitation Department involving persons with disabilities and their caregivers in partnership with private and non-governmental organizations in the community over the past few weeks.

The event closed with a presentation of certificate to sponsors and exhibitors and a tour around the exhibition area. Majlis Kesejahteraan Orang Kelainan Upaya (MKOKU), Brunei Darussalam National Association of the Blind, National Paralympics Council of Brunei Darussalam, Pusat Bahagia (Jabatan Pembangunan Masyarakat), UNIKLEARN (An-Nur Harapan), La Vida Brunei, Persatuan Bahasa Isyarat JuruAlih Kitani and Pusat Ehsan Al-Ameerah Al-Hajjah Maryam were among the participating exhibitors who had the opportunity to converse about their work initiatives with the Guest of Honor and special guest.
