Breast Cancer Awareness Month 2022 Campaign Launching

The Brunei Cancer Centre (TBCC) of Pantai Jerudong Specialist Centre (PJSC) is launching its Breast Cancer Awareness Month 2022 campaign today, Saturday, 1st October 2022, at the Lecture Theater, RF Floor, PJSC Building. 

Present as the Guest of Honour during the event was YB Datin Seri Setia Dr. Hajah Romaizah binti Haji Mohd Salleh, Minister of Education. Also in attendance were YM Pengiran Datin Seri Paduka Hajah Zety Sufina binti Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Sani, Deputy Minister of Finance and Economy and Puan Hjh Chairani binti Hj Sulaiman, Deputy Permanent Secretary (Fiscal and Corporate) Ministry of Finance and Economy, and Puan Hjh Noraini binti Hj Sulaiman, member of PJSC Board of Directors. 

A welcoming remark was made by the Co-Chairperson, Datin Dr Hjh Noraslinah Binti Hj Ramlee. 

To commemorate Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Guest of Honour officiated the campaign by launching a video clip which also includes a message from Mr Wu Chun, PJSC’s Goodwill Ambassador & Messenger of Cancer Awareness and Brunei’s own International Celebrity. This was followed by a plenary session entitled ‘Breast Cancer: Then & Now’ given by Dr Ravi Sekhar Patnaik, Consultant Medical Oncologist in PJSC. A video followed the plenary session portraying the journey of a breast cancer patient from detection to treatment and survivorship. 

Certificates of appreciation to the event sponsors were given to Awang Junaidi Bin Hj Masri, Managing Director and CEO of BIBD and also to Awang Johari Hj Hol, the Deputy CEO of Armada Properties Sdn Bhd. A breast cancer awareness exhibition from the Breast Cancer Survivor Group (BCSG) and the TBCC departments were also exhibited in the foyer area. 

PJSC strives to promote breast cancer & early detection and intervention through educating local communities on the importance of breast self-examination and other aspects. It is also part of PJSC’s corporate social responsibility to establish a connection among our patients with the local communities and the support groups through this event.
