Pantai Jerudong Specialist Centre through The Brunei Cancer Centre (TBCC) held a forum titled Navigating Men’s Health and Cancer: A Multidisciplinary Strategy to Diagnosis, Treatment and Survivorship on 27th November 2023 at Panaga Club. The forum marks the end of the one-month long celebration of Movember Men’s Health Awareness Month.

Present during the event was the Chairperson of Movember, Dr Haji Zulkhairi bin Haji Mohamad, Head of Medical Oncology Department and Palliative Care Unit. The forum featured a panel of experts consisting of Dr Raden Mas Jeffri Raden Mas Ismail, Consultant Medical Oncologist from TBCC, Dr Hamid Naseer, Head of Nuclear Medicine Department of TBCC, Jonathan Ooi, Fitness Trainer of JAB Gym and Haji Mohamad Danial Azizi Bin Hj Mahadi, Clinical Psychologist from Ministry of Health.

The forum highlighted on the developments of cancer research, early detection and treatment options, recognizing the societal stigma and stereotypes surrounding masculinity and mental health as well as multifaceted benefits of regular physical activity on the well-being of men.

The event proceeded with a joint discussion which was moderated by Nadzri Harif, Radio Deejay at Kristal FM and joined by a cancer warrior, Muhammad Kamarredzwan Kamarudin who shared his experience and journey of fighting cancer from diagnosis to treatment and survivorship.

The event then ended with a presentation of certificate of appreciation and a group photo with the Chairperson, panelists, and sponsors. Pantai Jerudong Specialist Centre (PJSC) is committed in increasing awareness to the public specifically men to further promote Movember campaign and men’s health awareness in a holistic approach.
