Breast Cancer Awareness talk to over 50 Halliburton Brunei

Halliburton Brunei

The Brunei Cancer Centre (TBCC) of PJSC recently had the opportunity to deliver a Breast Cancer Awareness talk to over 50 Halliburton Brunei staffs. The talk programme was the first event organized by Women Sharing Excellence (WSE) Chapter which is a Halliburton diversity network comprised of Halliburton professionals with the primary objective of furthering employee development, leadership competencies, and increased retention for women in the Halliburton organization.

Giving the life-saving knowledge was Dr Ravi Sekhar Patnaik, Consultant Medical Oncologist. During the talk, the audience had the opportunity to learn more about breast cancer, the importance of identifying signs and symptoms and taking immediate action once early signs and symptoms are detected. The Q&A session saw enthusiastic participation and engaging discussion between the audience and speaker. Ms Waznah, a breast cancer patient, was also present to share her experience and useful tips on how to overcome negative emotions when dealing with breast cancer. Her sharing has inspired many women in the audience where they conveyed their heartfelt thanks for her empowering message.

The event finished with the marking of hand mural stamps by everyone attending to commemorate the important WSE milestone and to express support towards the campaign. PJSC is incredibly grateful for the turnout of the event and the enthusiasm shown by Halliburton Brunei staffs. We hoped that Halliburton Brunei staffs would be empowered to take early screening and prevention steps while encouraging others to do the same.
