PJSC’s Psychology Unit were honoured to welcome Dr Donald Yeo, Consultant Neuropsychologist from Singapore who is in Brunei for a short working visit. Dr Donald gave a talk on Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) to PJSC doctors, nurses and allied health professionals as well as invited psychology colleagues from the Ministry of Health.

Traumatic brain injury can occur due to a number of causes such as falls from height or road traffic accidents. Whilst the injury can be mild, moderate or severe, many people suffer symptoms such as loss of consciousness as well as a range of physical, behavioural and cognitive symptoms.

In summary, Dr Donald’s talk provides improved awareness of these symptoms and how to manage them thus helping our healthcare professionals to deliver more comprehensive management to our patients affected by TBI.
